Whip It

Directed by Drew Barrymore, Whip It, is a comedy based on the book Derby Girl by Shauna Cross.  Bliss, portrayed by Ellen Page (Juno), is a teen girl who decides to join a roller derby team to get her parents off her back about entering beauty pageants.  Bliss finds a new passion in the sport and builds lasting relationships with her teammates, and reaches new heights in her relationship with her parents. 

 

In addition to Barrymore and Page, the film includes other big names like, Jimmy Fallon, Eve, and Juliette Lewis

Also check out the Milwaukee Bucks' training camp roster, which includes former Marquette standout Dominic James. 

 

Milwaukee's first day of training camp is open to the public and includes a tailgate party at the Bradley Center.

Rappin' about H1N1

With a rap titled, H1N1 Rap by Dr. Clarke, John Clarke of New York won the United States Department of Health and Human Services' flu prevention PSA contest. 

The video informs people about the flu and motivates them to take steps to help prevent the spread of the flu. Dr. Clarke received $2500 in cash and his PSA will be featured on national television.

Dancing Inmates?

Michael Jackson (http://www.mtvblogs.co.uk/files/images/039_30399michael-jackson-posters.jpg)  revolutionized music throughout his lifetime, but who knew his music would make prison inmates famous?

After learning of his death, Filipino inmates paid tribute to Jackson by practicing his moves all night.  The “Thriller” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMnk7lh9M3o)  dance sequence was perfected, performed, and posted to YouTube, and today it’s one of the top viewed videos.  WOW.  You’ve got to see this.

Hasbro toy company's action figures come to life in this action packed filmed starring Marlon Wayans and Channing TatumThe duo is part of an elite G.I. JOE team that uses the latest in next-generation spy and military equipment to fight the corrupt arms dealer Destro, and the mysterious Cobra organization.  Tatum is Duke, one of the Joe's newest recruits, and Wayans provides his typical comic relief as Ripcord.
